Meredith Borowiec was back in a Calgary courtroom on Friday facing second-degree murder charges in connection to the deaths of two of her newborn children.
Borowiec is accused of killing two babies and trying to kill a third baby boy that was rescued from a dumpster in 2010.
She has been out on bail with conditions including the use of birth control.
Borowiec confessed in a video interview with police in 2011 saying that she delivered a child in 2008 and admitted to wrapping the baby in a towel and trash bag before tossing it in a dumpster.
During the interview she was adamant that she did not know she was pregnant and said she gave birth in her bathroom.
She told the officer that the baby was not moving or crying and she thought it was dead so she panicked and put him in the garbage.
When asked why she didn’t call an ambulance, she told the officer that she just wanted it to go away.
The video was ruled admissible by a judge in April of this year and on Friday was made available to the media.
