Performers have been announced for the YYC Music Awards, where Calgary will celebrate its home-grown musical talent.
The inaugural event will take place at Studio Bell in the National Music Centre on September 25, 2016. The awards continue celebrations related to Calgary’s Year of Music.
The performers for the event are:
- Kay L ft Voyce (Nominated for Pop Recording of The Year)
- Jason Hastie & The Alibi (Nominated for Country Recording of The Year, Group of The Year, Music Video of The Year, Singer / Songwriter of The Year, Single of The Year)
- The New Electric (Nominated for Group of The Year, Music Video of Year, Pop Recording of The Year, Single of The Year)
- Al Muirhead (Nominated for Jazz Recording of The Year, Male Artist of The Year) w/ TylerHornby (Nominated for Jazz Recording of The Year, Male Artist of The Year), Kodi Hutchinsonof Hutchinson Andrew Trio (Nominated for Jazz Recording of The Year) & Johnny Summer (Nominated for Jazz Recording of The Year)
- The Wisers (Nominated for Alternative Recording of The Year)
- Divinity (Nominated for Metal Recording of The Year)
There are 18 categories in the award show ranging from country to metal. There are still volunteer positions left to fill leading up to the gala.
