Calgary police are looking into the death of a 44-year-old man at a southeast residence and are asking the public for help to try and piece together what happened.

Police were called to an apartment in the 200 block of Heritage Drive S.E at about 2:45 p.m. Monday after a family member requested a check on welfare.

John Thomas Pollock, 44, was found dead inside the residence and police say family had not heard from him in several days.

Investigators say initially the death did not appear suspicious but an autopsy on Tuesday ruled the cause of death as undetermined.

Police say Pollock was last seen at about 8:00 p.m. Friday by neighbours in his apartment building and they are trying to piece together his movements between that time and the discovery of his body.

"We are calling it suspicious, but we're stopping short of calling it a homicide," said CPS  A/S.Sgt Michael Cavilla from the Homicide Unit. "Just because he consistenly checked in with family and no one heard from him, they got worried because that was a bit odd."
