A deep discount on the price to get into Stampede Park will be extended for another day.

The Stampede slashed admission to $5 per person Thursday afternoon from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Stampede officials made the decision after that to extend the offer - for the same hours - to Friday evening as well.

“We are so appreciative of our community’s support and we all had so much fun, that we’re going to do it again,” says Bill Gray, President and Chairman of the Board, Calgary Stampede.

Stampede officials say even if it can't make the sun come out they want to make the fun come out.

Attendance at the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth is down this year due to wet weather and a struggling Calgary economy.

The Stampede says that, despite this, they had budgeted for lower numbers given the economy in Alberta.

Tickets to the Grandstand during the weekdays are also undersold.
