Two teenagers charged with second-degree murder in connection to the stabbing death of a man outside Marlborough Mall in June made a brief court appearance on Thursday morning.

On June 20th, 45-year-old Gabriel Okeynan was found suffering from stab wounds in the parking lot of the mall. He died in hospital four days later.

Two youths, aged 16 and 13, are facing second-degree murder charges in the case.

Police believe the motive was robbery and that it was a random incident.

The teens cannot be named under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act and are in custody.

The Crown is asking that the 16-year-old be tried as an adult.

Both teens are scheduled to be back in court next month.
