The man found dead near Langdon has been identified.
Edward Reginald Makaruk, also known as Al, was discovered Monday morning on a rural road east of Calgary.
The Medical Examiner's office says Makaruk died from gunshot wounds.
Strathmore RCMP is investigating the death with help from the RCMP Major Crimes Unit.
They say the 28-year-old was involved in the drug trade.
The Calgary Police Service tells CTV it is not involved in the investigation.
