H1N1 vaccine clinics opened up for the second day and once again people were lined up to get the shot.
At the Avenida clinic hundreds of people showed up hours before the facility even opened.
Many people came prepared and brought hot beverages, heavy coats and sleeping bags.
Some of the people who were in line on Tuesday were turned away on Monday after they waited for several hours to get a shot.
"I was here yesterday, and we had to leave after an hour and a half because with 2 children I can't be here all day long," said Genie French.
"Yesterday I came as well and it was about a 5 to 6 hour wait," said Linda Gray, "we're hoping that by being inside the building it will be less of a wait"
H1N1 clinics are open at the following locations:
- Avenida Village
Unit 303, 12445 Lake Fraser Dr. S.E.
- Brentwood Village
Unit 302, 3630 Brentwood Rd. N.W.
- EMS Whitehorn - North side entrance
100, 3705 35 St. N.E.
- Richmond Road Diagnostic Treatment Centre
1820 Richmond Rd. S.W.
Clinics in Calgary will remain open until 11:00 p.m. to deal with the huge line ups and will only offer the H1N1 vaccine.
AHS has suspended the seasonal flu shot at the clinics to help reduce wait times.
A few rural clinics also opened up on Tuesday in Airdrie, Cochrane, Okotoks and Strathmore but some of those clinics are not continuous and are scheduled only for certain days.
