The man accused in the murder of veteran Calgary broadcaster Bill Powers and his wife Donna Lee was back in court on Wednesday.
The Powers were found stabbed to death in their Braeside home on July 4th, 2013.
Derek Puffer,35, is charged with two counts of second-degree murder in the couple’s deaths.
Puffer lived in the basement of the Powers’ home on 110 Avenue S.W. and was their stepson.
A 30-day psychiatric assessment was ordered when he appeared in court on July 8, 2013.
At that time he did not have an attorney.
On Wednesday, he was ordered to undergo further assessment until September 6th.
