Closing arguments are all that's left in the second degree murder trial of a mother charged with killing her 14-year-old daughter.

Testimony in the case wrapped up on Wednesday.

Aminat Magamadova was found strangled in the family home in February of 2007.

Her mother, Aset Magamadova, admitted to killing the teen, but claims it was self defense because the girl was threatening her with knives.

In court on Wednesday, a school support worker testified she was assaulted by Aminat and that the girl had frequent outbursts.

The worker also testified that drugs were found in the 14-year-old's locker.

The crown prosecutor says there should be a verdict soon.

"Friday morning we expect Mr. Tindale will start his closing argument, and when he's completed, the crown will provide its closing argument and then we'll see when justice Lovecchio wants to render his decision," said Crown Prosecutor, Mac Vomberg.

Earlier a teacher told the court how Aminat threw her to the ground which resulted in criminal charges against the teen.
