Calgary police are investigating an early morning incident near the Calf Robe Bridge, south of the Peigan Trail overpass, in which a female passenger exited a vehicle travelling roughly 100 km/h.

According to police, shortly after 3:00 a.m., officers responded to the southbound lanes of Deerfoot Trail following reports of an injured woman. The female victim, believed to be in her twenties, exited a vehicle, struck the road and rolled across several lanes of Deerfoot Trail before landing in the ditch.

EMS transported the woman to hospital in stable condition with undisclosed, non-life threatening injuries.

CPS officials say the driver was stunned by the actions of the passenger. The driver is cooperating with the police investigation.
