Search crews have located the body of a man who went missing while kayaking on the Upper Kananaskis Lake on Sunday night.
Emergency crews were called to the recreation area after people on shore heard screams for help coming from someone out on the lake just after 6:00 p.m.
Witnesses say the person was about 200 metres from shore when a bystander jumped into the water to help.
The bystander swam to the area where the person was last seen but was unable to locate them.
The Good Samaritan then had to be rescued in return by the Alberta Tourism Parks and Recrecation Public Safety Officer who was flying with an Alpine helicopter that was assisting in the search.
STARS and a number of other vessels searched the area and recovered a floatation device and a kayak on Monday.
A local dive team was brought in on Tuesday and the body of a 31-year-old man was recovered at about 2:50 p.m.
Police say foul play is not suspected and that the name of the deceased is not being released pending notification of next of kin.
