We're likely going to wake up to a messy morning commute

Share

Expect snow overnight and through Thursday morning.

The snow will be heavy at times and this will be combined with gusts up to 40 km/h.

This will reduce visibility.

Many roads and sidewalks will have ice under the snow that falls.

This will likely make for a messy morning commute.

The snow should start to taper off in the early afternoon but there is still a chance of a couple more isolated bursts of snow until the supper hours.

In Calgary, some communities will get closer to seven centimetres of snow and other parts of YYC could get closer to 20.

With the strong wind gusts out of the north, there will also be snow drifts around the city.

This snow event will end on Thursday.

After that, we are looking at much quieter conditions for the rest of the week.

We will hold on to temperatures closer to normal for the next few days.
